Gyeongbokgung Palace, built in 1395 as the main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty, is Seoul's most iconic historical landmark and Korea's largest palace. Visitors can encounter a wide range of cultural heritage including the magnificent Geunjeongjeon Hall, the beautiful Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, and Hyangwonjeong Pavilion, and throughout the palace grounds, the history and traditional culture of the Joseon era can be vividly experienced. In particular, the Royal Guard-Changing Ceremony and hanbok experience are hugely popular among both domestic and international tourists.
